According to Wang Baosheng, curator of the exhibition and president of Chinese Cultural Figures magazine, under the theme of "Drawing Silk Road Civilization Together", more than 50 artists from different art fields uphold the concept of harmony in diversity and exchange and mutual learning to tell the story of the Silk Road, display the construction results, focus on humanity history to depict the development picture, express patriotism, highlight cultural confidence, construct aesthetic images, and interpret the spirit of the Silk Road... They have created a large number of artistic masterpieces with profound thinking, exquisite art and excellent production, which vividly reproduce the great practice of transforming the Belt and Road Initiative from idea to action, and from vision to reality.
More than 50 collections (pieces) of works from different artistic fields such as calligraphy, Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture, watercolor, photography, seal cutting, ceramics and copper melting are on display at the exhibition. These works feature rich content and elegant style and adhere to the ideological, contemporary, artistic and ornamental unity. They will promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning among countries along the "Belt and Road", enhance people-to-people connectivity, and strongly inspire people to actively head for the next golden decade.
After the exhibition special events, an art seminar was held. Wang Yong, a researcher at the Chinese National Academy of Arts, said the exhibition's success is inseparable from the artists' innovation and creation, and the contributions of the Belt and Road Initiative construction cannot go unnoticed. The joint construction of the "Belt and Road" has not only enhanced the economic development of related countries, promoted the mutual exchange of cultures among the countries, but also brought a new field of contemporary Chinese art creation. The works on display in this exhibition feature a variety of styles, involving realistic, abstract, traditional, Chinese, modern and advanced art, which vividly present the historical scenes of exchange and mutual learning, integration and innovation of the Silk Road Civilization.
According to Shao Xiaofeng, Director of the Exhibition Department of National Art Museum of China, the National Art Museum of China attaches great importance to the exhibition. The works of more than 50 masters and the latest exploration results of the "Silk Road Civilization" are showcased, and the rich themes bring high-quality experiences and achieve good social effects.
Yu Yang, Director of the Scientific Research Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, said that in recent years, the creation of the Silk Road theme has become a hot topic and a focus of general concern of artists. The "Drawing Silk Road Civilization Together" Cultural Figures Art Exhibition demonstrates distinctive features, and focuses on people and people's activities with human as clues. There are both explicit presentation and invisible expression, and there are both portraits of people and group images of people of different nationalities and countries. In this way, the artists express the emotions and spiritual world of the characters, and present the ecological civilization concept of "harmony between man and nature" of Chinese civilization, and the novel and unique perspective shows the depth and breadth.
According to Xu Qinsong, former Vice Chairman of China Artists Association and former Chairman of Guangdong Artists Association, he has participated in the art exhibition held by Boao Forum for Asia and China Cultural Figures magazine twice, and personally understands the global influence of Boao Forum for Asia art exhibition. The exhibition, held on the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, is of great significance. Many artists from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao actively participate in the exhibition, which will strongly promote the cultural exchange, integration and development of the Greater Bay Area.
Sun Yumin, a professor at the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University, said that the exhibition gathered domestic masters in various fields of art, reflecting the great influence of the Boao Forum for Asia Cultural Figures Art Exhibition, and also showing the enthusiasm of the majority of artists for drawing and writing "Silk Road Civilization".
Wang Hongliang, Director of the Institute of Sculpture Art of the Arts & Design of Tsinghua University, expounds the gains and losses of theme creation in combination with his exhibition work "Emperor Wu of Han". He will create more and better works to support the Boao Forum for Asia Cultural Figures Art Exhibition as always, and make new contributions to exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
Chinese art master Zhu Bingren said that the Boao Forum for Asia Cultural Figures Art Exhibition has experienced a development process from scratch, and there is still a long way to go to become an international brand and realize the historical leap from weak to strong. This process has been valued by the Boao Forum for Asia, an international organization, and strongly supported by the National Art Museum of China. The efforts of China Cultural Figures magazine have won wide recognition from the art world. I believe the exhibition will embrace a bright future.
According to Lv Hailin, former President of the UN Women's International Forum, as an influential international organization, the Boao Forum for Asia is a platform for extensive exchanges and dialogue among the governments, business communities and academia of member states. On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the Boao Forum for Asia and China Cultural Figures jointly organized a cultural round-table conference and a cultural figures art exhibition to start the construction of the cultural section of the Boao Forum for Asia, which has received extensive attention from politicians, entrepreneurs, experts and scholars from home and abroad, and achieved positive results. Compared to the previous exhibition, this exhibition is on a larger scale. It exhibits the new works and masterpieces of national treasure artists in the national art palace and receives numerous compliments, and the efforts made by the curators and organizers are very valuable and meaningful. In the future, we will further promote the internationalization of the exhibition and truly make it a world-class art exchange event. This also requires cultural artists to make the past serve the present, adapt foreign things to Chinese needs, give dialectical choices, strive for innovation, get rid of the stale and bring forth the fresh, and tell the Chinese stories well in the form people would like to see and hear, letting Chinese civilization to win the understanding and recognition of the international audience.
