The “Innocence and Poetic Heart - Han Yuchen’s Oil Painting Art and European Oil Painting Collection Exhibition” to be held from November 4 to December 5 at Chinese Academy of Oil Painting of Chinese National Academy of Arts

Chinese Cultural Figures (Reporter Su Qing) The “Innocence and Poetic Heart - Han Yuchen’s Oil Painting Art and European Oil Painting Collection Exhibition” jointly organized by Chinese Academy of Oil Painting of Chinese National Academy of Arts and Hebei Artists Association was opened at Chinese Academy of Oil Painting of Chinese National Academy of Arts on November 4. This exhibition is the third large-scale exhibition held by Han Yuchen in Beijing, following the oil painting exhibition held at National Museum of China in 2017 and the oil painting and sketching exhibition held at National Art Museum of China in 2022.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhang Xiaoling, Former Vice President of China National Academy of Painting and Dean of College of Fine Arts of East China Normal University. Jin Shangyi, Honorary Chairman of China Artists Association and Former President of Central Academy of Fine Arts, Lian Ji, Former President of Chinese National Academy of Arts, Yang Feiyun, Honorary Dean of Chinese Academy of Oil Painting of Chinese National Academy of Arts, and Zhang Zuying, Lifetime Member of the Academic Committee of China Oil Painting Society, delivered speeches. They expressed deep admiration for Han Yuchen’s artistic journey of taking root in life and learning by himself, spoke highly of the sincere feelings and professional artistic standards expressed in his Tibet-themed oil paintings. With decades of creative practice, Han Yuchen has not only inherited realistic expression techniques, but also constructed artistic languages and personality traits that suit himself, achieving outstanding artistic achievements. In the future, he is expected to create more high-quality oil paintings.
In his thank-you speech, Han Yuchen recounted the ups and downs of his artistic journey of 50 years: “The specific social environment propelled me to choose realistic themes for creation, which is based on rational thinking after researching and reviewing the development of Chinese and foreign fine arts. The unique landscapes of mountains and rivers in Tibet have inspired my passion for creation, and decades of insistence on sketching is a process in which I have continued to hone my image building ability and overcome the tendency of picturization. The purpose of holding exhibitions in various countries is to let Chinese culture go abroad, let the world get to know Tibet and understand China.” Han Yuchen’s speech resonated with the attending guests and won their warm applause.
Lv Zhangshen, Former Director of National Museum of China, announced the opening of the exhibition.
Approximately 500 people attended the opening ceremony, including Lin Mao, President of Central Academy of Fine Arts, Yang Huashan, Former Director of the Creation Center of Chinese National Academy of Arts, Zheng Guangxu, Director of the Library of Chinese National Academy of Arts, Shi Lei, Vice Dean of Chinese Academy of Oil Painting of Chinese National Academy of Arts, and Wang Zhong, Former Editor-in-Chief of Art Magazine.

Following the opening ceremony, an academic seminar was held under the auspices of Yu Yang, Professor of Central Academy of Fine Arts and curator of this exhibition.
